“I grew up in the town of Havre de Grace, which means “Harbor of Grace,” at the headwaters of the Chesapeake Bay. Harbors are known for their calm waters. They represent safe places to regroup, rebuild, and restock. But as John A. Shedd noted, “A ship in harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for.”
